Jackie McRae, PharmD, MS, Founder & Principal
Inspired by patients' lived experiences, Jackie McRae has worked at the intersection of policy and research for over a decade. Jackie earned a Doctorate of Pharmacy from Mercer University and interned/volunteered at multiple hospitals in urban Atlanta – these experiences shaped her viewpoint on the disparities in patient care.
Patients losing limbs and eyesight for lack of access to health care are experiences that she does not want to unsee. Witnessing the lack of access to health care among patients fueled her mission to help patients gain access to health care through policy and research.
With a desire to help patients, Jackie studied population health in a two-year Post Doctoral fellowship program. During the fellowship, Jackie worked with health economics professionals on evidence generation related to access to health care and the value of medicines in the US. Her work was published in multiple peer-reviewed journals.

With a luring itch to continue studies, Jackie pursued a PhD in Pharmaceutical Health Services Research at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. During these years, she conducted health economics research using real-world claims and survey data. Jackie was also awarded a grant to examine social constructs in value assessment frameworks. Her doctoral research examined variations in access to diabetes care in Baltimore City; however, Jackie withdrew from graduate school upon the passing of her father to prioritize spending time with her family.
In the height of the global pandemic, Jackie was hired as a Director of Research and Policy at Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA). Jackie was a member of the inaugural team to launch the PhRMA’s health equity research portfolio and advocacy efforts. Jackie led and supported initiatives that provided grant funding to organizations conducting health equity research and helped a major university release medication quality metrics on a national dashboard.
Most recently, Jackie served as the Vice President of Policy and External Affairs at the National Pharmaceutical Council (NPC). Jackie spearheaded the initiation of the public policy department. In this role, Jackie dissected pharmaceutical policies and translated the impact of policies in comment letters and other communications vehicles.
Over the last decade, Jackie’s work has been submitted to Congress, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, other government entities, and multiple peer-reviewed journals.
